Compare and contrast the problems of the teenagers in Mr. Ward’s class with those you think are going on in the lives of your classmates. How are they alike? How are they different? Tell me what you think.

This book had a lot of complex issues that a lot of kids nowadays don't have, especially not children of our age. However, Raynard's problem, dislexia, is a problem that lots of kids have today. However, now there are programsto help kids with dislexia. I don't think that Raynard had any help when he was a school.
This is a very good book. It had a lot of very important issues like stealing and other important issues. (The mayor)If anyone did that in our world, BAD things would probably happen to them.
OOPS WRONG BOOK SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The kids in this book were really strong. Almost all of the students had some issue, yet they covered it up and only talked about it in their poetry. Then, at the end, it turned out that lots of kids were starting to admire them and they wanted Mr. Ward as their teacher next year.
Writing is a powerful way to safely share your feelings. Writing has helped me so many times in my life. Just putting things down on paper seems to help. Many times, we don't WANT to share our feelings. We don't want to talk. We just want to be left alone...but somehow writing allows us to give away our hurt to a piece of paper and even though it can't get rid of the pain from whatever issues we are faced with, it sure does help us feel a little bit better. THanks for the posts guys.
They're alike becasue people are pushed into things and care about how they look. In this book however at Open Mike Friday, everyone is equal and just read poems about how everone hides behind a mask.
